It's Summertime ~ Make a Date...with us!

Updated: Jul 22, 2020

Welcoming Guests as Travel Resumes

(this page is updated often and as we get new, pertinent information)

Here's the latest advice we can offer for booking a stay with us this summer (due to all the hulabaloo with covid) - Just Do It!!! We're here, and you know you want to be too!

Here are some things to help you find out who/what in the area is open:

The Leelanau Enterprise Facebook Page

Suttons Bay Area Chamber of Commerce

Leelanau Chamber of Commerce

Michigan State Parks

Sleeping Bear National Shoreline Park

Please contact specific wineries to know their hours/days of operation.

In the meantime, take a look over how we will be taking care of you during your stay and an overview of how the B&B will be operating this summer:

Dear Future Guest of Northern Dream Bed & Breakfast,

We hope you and your family have been safe and well through these last few months of uncertainty across our country. Our goal in writing is to reach out to you prior to your visit and assure you we are doing all we can to make your stay enjoyable, comfortable, and safe during the issues we face with COVID-19.

Rooms & Common Areas

Rooms and common areas will continue to be cleaned to the highest standards. Public, high-traffic, high-touch surfaces (door knobs, key-pads, railings, switch plates, countertops, remotes, etc…) will undergo additional cleanings throughout each day with EPA rated Type N disinfectant products. Additional hands-free hand sanitizer dispensers have been added to all bathrooms and the main entryway. We also have disinfectant wipes available for guest use in the main entry. Please note our queen rooms share a bath. The shared bath is set up like many public gyms and spas - a disinfectant spray is available for guests to use before/after use of the facility. For our guest’s convenience, a sanitizing wipe dispenser is also available for use. If you have booked a queen room and have further concerns please contact us.

In the kitchen area, we also continue to use disinfectant and bleach washes as is typical in standard food service facilities. Prepared food is served individually plated and not served family style. Gloves are worn for food prep. Breakfast seating and serving will be determined on a morning-by-morning basis and by guest headcount, and will continue to be served in the kitchen-dining area on the main floor. Besides the main dining table, we can offer seating at a high-top table, at the kitchen island, along with outdoor patio seating. (all are close to the kitchen/dining area - yet allow for comfortable space between parties),

Guests & Travel

We encourage guests to stay home if you feel unwell or believe you may have recently been in any of the virus hot-spots. If you're simply not ready to travel yet, we understand. We'll be here when you are ready.

Other suggestions are for our guests to travel with their own masks, hand sanitizer, and thermometer. Use each as you are comfortable doing so.

If you already have a reservation, please be sure to review our cancelation policy in the event you need to make any changes. If you do need to cancel due to a COVID related event or event change, we will also waive the cancelation processing fee as long as a cancelation is made more than 15 days prior to your arrival date.

If you find yourself within 14 days of arrival and haven’t canceled, and your event plans change (weddings are getting rescheduled a lot!!) we are offering a fee-free change of dates (based on availability) or will issue a gift certificate for the full amount that will be valid through Oct 28th of this year.

In extreme cases where the public health or economic climate of the state changes and shut-downs or executive orders are again put in place within the two weeks prior to your arrival, a refund can be requested or gift certificates offered for a future date.

Local Activities

Currently there are no sit-down restaurants open, or public shopping/attractions open. Stay informed on local restaurants and attractions here:

The Leelanau Enterprise Facebook Page

Suttons Bay Area Chamber of Commerce

Leelanau Chamber of Commerce

Michigan State Parks

Sleeping Bear National Shoreline Park

Please contact wineries to know their hours/days of operation.

In light of everything, if you have any questions or concerns about your stay, what is happening in Leelanau County or Suttons Bay (restaurants, shops, beaches, trails, etc…), please feel free to reach out to us at any time and we will do our best to address them.

As B&B owners/operators, hospitality is our passion! We plan to do all we can to provide an atmosphere in keeping with everything a B&B is and what you would expect to make your stay and experience memorable. Be assured you can look forward to a warm welcome, comfortable rooms, delicious breakfasts, and enjoyable conversation with other like-minded travelers during your stay with us at Northern Dream B&B!
